Childcare Canada, I want to make sure you know how valuable your efforts are to these vulnerable children.  I have been blessed to be watching God use you to make a difference in the lives of these children for eternity!  Your work affords me valuable time to care for other people and for prayer.

Thank you so much for your prayer and support to help the work going on in Faith Alive Ministries/Faith Academy.  As you may know, we have been very involved in a tremendous work that God is doing in this spiritually hungry part of the world.

Please consider partnering with us in any way you can.  Our immediate need is a prayer covering.  We know that God wants to bring a remarkable revival to this part of the nation that is known to be the most forgotten by the world’s population.  We also know that every evil spirit will work to hinder all that we are doing here.  Your prayers will enable us to accomplish much when spiritual darkness comes against us.

One of the Primary needs here is to raise up solid Godly children.  In order to accomplish this, a school building is desperately needed.  Our greatest need is a school building.  Is there any way any one could make a prayer contribution towards this?  The building will be dedicated to teach young children who are the future of this country.

Thank you again to all who have gotten behind this great work that God is doing in Faith Academy.  I wish I could bring each of you here to show you what a difference your prayers and support have made in the lives of so many desperate children.

I am not a fan of getting older, BUT I love a good party.  I wanted to celebrate my birthday this year a bit crazy and different… by blessing others.  I would love to invite you and your family for a Free Movie at the Clova Theatre in Cloverdale, BC.  It will take place on Saturday, February 4th from 10:00am – 1:00pm.  No cost to you, just come and bring lots of friends and family!

The movie will be a family oriented movie, so all ages are welcome to join.  I would love to bless you and have a bit of fun together!

“Work is still ongoing and desperately needed in Haiti two years after the earthquake occurred on January 12, 2010.  To escape the tremendous devastation of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake, many children and their families traveled by North out of the capital city of Port-au-Prince to the village of La Grange.  To help restore health and bring healing and hope to the people of La Grange, Childcare Canada is nearing completion of a medical clinic and installation of a water treatment system.  

Together we can continue to improve the lives of the children and families in La Grange by ensuring they have safe drinking water.  My father (Rod Forrest, Executive Director of Childcare) is heading there at the end of the month (missing my birthday I might add).  I am not bitter… BUT anyway, back to blessing others.  My dad is heading to Haiti to oversee the completion of the water treatment system, so we might have some great updates for us in the next little while!

If you are able to contribute to such an amazing cause, I ask that you consider, otherwise PLEASE pray that it all goes well.

We have received an urgent request from our Sponsorship Coordinator in Mexico to pray for Isaac Lopez.  Isaac is 17 years old and has been in Childcare’s sposnorship program since he was 9.

Isaac has a brain tumour and Doctors have said he has little time to live.  On January 4th, Isaac had surgery to alleviate the swelling around his brain.  Unfortunately it was confirmed that the tumour was malignant.

Will you join us in praying for Isaac and his family?  Adding to their challenges, the family’s car was stolen while the family was in the hospital praying for Isaac.  The good news is that because Isaac is sponsored through Childcare, the medical needs and the immediate needs of his family have been taken care of.

The next few days are critical.  Isaac needs our prayers.  The doctors have done all they can do, it is now in God’s hands.  Will you join us in praying for Isaac?

As soon as I heard about the typhoon that hit Cagayan de Oro & Iligan City I couldn’t help but think about my experiences with flooding inside our house in the Philippines. Born and raised in Iloilo City, we had our share of floods, but nothing of this magnitude! Every year, we braced ourselves for water rushing in our living room and my parents’ bedroom.  I experienced dirty, filthy flood water up to my thighs on our ground floor of our 2 storey house and can only imagine what my fellow Filipinos from these affected areas are experiencing right now.

As we celebrate Christmas with our loved ones, I personally ask you to please remember everyone affected by the flooding in your prayers.  Thankfully none of our work in the Philippines was affected by this disaster.  I pray for strength, courage and hope for everyone affected by this disaster and for Childcare Canada’s work in the areas of Cebu City.

Filipinos are known for their resilience in times of adversity so there’s no doubt in my mind that they will rise above this tragedy. Mabuhay!

November 20th is the official anniversary date of Declaration of Rights of Children in 1959 and the Convention on Rights of the Child in 1989.  Today, National Child Day (Also called Universal Children’s Day) is observed globally as a day to promote the welfare and understanding of children.

Today we are celebrating children around the world at Childcare Canada!  Please celebrate and continue to pray the children in our sponsorship program and other impoverished children around the world.

Children are the future; they embody what innocence is left in the world. By choosing to acknowledge a child, you choose to acknowledge that you – that we – are not in control of the world around us, but that we are merely caretakers of it for the generation to come.

So how must we utilize such a responsibility?

Love deeply, act responsibly, protect the vulnerable, practice patience and walk humbly with the Lord. Set an example for the children, the adults of tomorrow, for they are the future.
